ABM® Practitioner

 More About the Method

I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2009 with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. SInce then, I have been an OT working with the geriatric population. I came across the Anat Baniel Method® in 2013 during a conference and was blown away by what I saw and felt! Not too long after I applied to become a practitioner. I completed the basic training in 2015 and graduated from the Children's mastery program in 2016.

About Me

NeuroMovement®, with it's roots in the Feldenkrais Method, uses the brain's powerful capacity to change and improve. The brain is an information system and controls the way we organize our movements. Everything that we do- every movement, thought, feeling- changes the neural pathways in our brain. The tendency with aging, disability, and trauma is for those changes to result in decreased coordination and increased rigidity and pain. This ultimately leads to decreased energy and the ability to effectively navigate the world around us, both physically and cognitively. This method uses principles of neuroplasticity that are known to be effective in bringing about positive changes in the brain and body.

The  nine essentials are effective and tangible ways to build new, lasting neural connections.

The Anat Baniel Method® can help with a variety of conditions including:

  • Arthritis
  • Back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Autism
  • ADD/ADHD
